Change your room’s look in 30 minutes

As the season’s change so should the look of your window treatments. If you have designed your room correctly you should be able to get two or even four different looks that are seasonal and classic within minutes. A neutral paint on the walls accented by classically styled furniture will provide the right backdrop for your windows to shine.

The process is very simple, once you have a clean palette, take a moment and clean your windows inside and out; you want them gleaming for your new window treatments. If you are making a seasonal change select a window treatment that reflects the season. Choose lined window treatments for fall and winter to keep heating bills lower, and light and airy sheers with valances to let the sun and breeze in for spring and summer.

Start with something as simple as a bedroom; the paint is a soft butter yellow, medium stained wood furnishings and a couple of lamps; you have two beautiful windows which need you attention. Start by removing the lamp shades, window treatments and the bedding; now you have a clean pallet to work with. Select a base window treatment color that compliments or contrasts your wall color; take flooring and any upholstered furniture in to consideration.

Installing your window treatments should only take a few minutes per window. Select bedding that draws out an accent color in the drapery you have chosen. Add a few pillows, replace the lamp shades, and voila you have a new look in under 30 minutes, and on a budget.
